In the rat race of life most of us neglect our own personal safety and security. Those that value their own safety and train for it are often called paranoid, obsessed or delusional by others.
Ask yourself, if at this very moment you are physically attacked, are you capable of defending and also maybe immobilizing the attacker? If you are out with your family members and loved ones, can you protect them, if attacked? Have you discussed with them about how to respond and react to such situations? If your answer is unsure or a big no, then sadly you are just a victim waiting to happen.
Crime is increasing in most if not all parts of the world, if our attitude is laidback and we say or think things like - it won't happen to me, it's too much hard work, I don't have time for all this, I am too old to start now, etc. Then we do not value our ownself and the gift of life that we are given.
Security has many facets and layers to it. Which are interconnected and distinctly different at the same time.
Yes the police and other law enforcement agencies are there for our protection. But they are not beside us all the time, when we are alone at home, commuting to work, at work, out shopping or out for a movie etc. This is why we are our own first responders. The first and only line of defense when we are suddenly under attack.
We need to work on our fitness and strength. We should train in a martial art that focuses on self defense and combat training with pressure testing and body conditioning. We need to work on our situational awareness and learn to pay attention to detail whether at home or out in a crowded mall. There are a few other facets, training and protocols to look into and work on a regular basis too.
Some people think these trainings as short courses that they do for few hours or some days and then they will be able to use it for a lifetime. Sadly they are wrong. Physical training is a diminishing skill, as in if you don't keep training in it regularly then you start losing your skill and ability over time.
Security is a lifestyle. It is not something you do but the person you become.
It is not too late to start, start today. It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war.
Train like a warrior to be a warrior!!!!
