Stand like you fight, fight like you stand.

Stance or how we stand plays a very important role in how we fight. Our feet and our legs are the foundation on which we build and execute. Correct foot positioning can be the difference between immobilizing the attacker or us getting knocked out itself.  Self defense is not just something that you learn it is something you become 24/7. How you stand normally is one of the important factors. Standing calm, non threatening yet ready to lash out and be in position in seconds. This is how someone who trains to defend themselves will ideally stand. Hoping to deescalate but ready to defend. Stances vary from martial art to martial art. But at it's core and in it's true traditional form they are ready for combat. It is with many martial arts moving towards making the sparring a sport that the stances have changed to accommodate the sparring point system, rather than real combat or self defense on the street.  In many styles of Karate, Taekwondo etc we can evidently see t...

Let exercise be simple, efficient and functional.

Exercise and the understanding of the science behind it is ever evolving. There is lots of knowledge available today for anyone who is curious and ready to learn. Infact there is so much information out there by so many sources, experts, fitness influencers etc that it is actually downright confusing for a person trying to navigate through it to improve their health and fitness.  Today there are so many philosophies and beliefs on what works from equipment to number of repititions. The dumbells club to the kettlebell followers and off late the mace or mudgar gang. Let's not forget the crossfitters. As lo...

Digitally killing our children.

The fast paced life these days makes us all gasp for some me time and peace. This is an understandable desire that working people have. However to destroy the future generations just to have some peace, some me time, in my opinion is a crime against humanity itself.  Today it is a very common sight to see parents self hypnotize and addict their own children with mobiles or tablets in restaurants, airports, railway stations, resorts in nature and lots more. Firstly they are abusing their own children by doing so and they don't even bother if the sounds of peppa pig etc is disturbing the others who have come to enjoy a meal. If you are not ready to raise a child properly, don't just create them for the heck of it. This nonchalant attitude of these parents is ruining the future of our species. We accept students as young as 4 years old. However in the last decade the all round development of children has greatly regressed. Many children today are having coordination is...
